Executive Report of the UN Global Compact Network Brazil Towards COP30 Program
The 30th Conference of the Parties (COP30) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) marks a historic moment for the global climate agenda and for Brazil. Ten years after the Paris Agreement, and widely recognized as the “COP of implementation,” COP30 represents a decisive milestone in transforming climate commitments into concrete actions.
Integrating the efforts of businesses, governments, and civil society, the UN Global Compact Network Brazil sought to leverage the conference as an opportunity to boost climate ambition in corporate strategies and promote a resilient, low-carbon, and just economy in the country. Launched in June 2024, the Global Compact Network Brazil Towards COP30 Program was born from the urgent need for coordinated and ambitious actions to address the climate crisis and maximize the role of companies as agents of transformation. The Program aims to collectively build essential mitigation and climate change adaptation actions with the Brazilian business sector and mobilize the Brazil Network against climate change, in light of the national climate scenario, through transversal, intersectoral, and sectoral projects.
In the spirit of the global effort for climate action ("Mutirão COP30"), the Program seeks to translate this sense of cooperation into tangible deliverables and increase the reach and effectiveness of corporate action in the face of the climate crisis. The results presented in this report reflect a process of multi-sector articulation, continuous learning, and collective commitment, which precedes COP30 and will continue to generate impact after the event.
